Non-optimal, hospital 100 Monkeys White - Brought some tea from home to have at the hospital after Ramsey’s birth. Brewed with crappy hot water from the Flavia machine into a (gasp) stryofoam cup. But hey, it’s still tea after a kinda’ stressful couple of days.
WFH Tea: Da Hong Pao - Some found da hong pao (thought I was out!) on a pleasant spring afternoon. Twenty-six boxes of hardwood flooring sit in our living room and hallway, waiting for installation this weekend.
WFH Tea: Sweet Dew Gan Lu Green - A foggy,dreary, but warm March day, nearing the end of this tin from last year’s pre-qing ming plucking from the Sichuan province.
Friday Jasmine Pearls - A rare dip into some jasmine-scented green tea brought back from China years ago by a former co-worker. It’s showing its age, but that’s OK, because so am I. (Pre-brewed pearls shown.)
WFH Tea: Rainy day Tie Guan Yin -
Tie Guan Yin - Saturday morning. A light oolong, some light reading, and heavy Polish funk.
Jade Cloud - Finishing off this Chinese Green on this work-with-earphones-type of Thursday.
WFH Tea: Roasted Dong Ding Oolong - A light snow falls outside, just barely coating the ground. Today called for this wonderful roasted oolong brewed in a yixing rather than a gaiwan, for a change of pace.

Tamaryokucha - 2010 Tamaryokucha. Stressful morning, trying to lean into the afternoon.

Friday night tea: Tie Luo Han - Got in a nice run this evening and winding down with a Wuyi and some homemade kung pao tofu.
Ureshino Tama Ryokucha - Finishing off a separate batch of this light, pan-fired Japanese green before kicking off a three-day weekend.
WFH Tea: Wenshan Baozhong - I’ve been doing lots of finishing off of tea recently, in preparation for the new spring offerings that will appear in a few months. I bought this 2011 Wenshan Baozhong when Huyen and I were on our 10th anniversary trip in October. I’m fondly remembering the trip as I finish the last of the tea.
A little light on the leaf on this cup with a lot of broken leaves, but it still brewed nicely.
Che Sen - Vietnamese Lotus Tea (2010) - A lightly floral cup to kick off the afternoon.
